About Me

I’ve sat on both sides of the table.

I’m Will Schmierer. For twenty years I’ve built digital work at startups, inside enterprise teams, and at agencies, including three of my own. I’ve worked with everyone from small businesses to Fortune 500 brands to plumbing, HVAC, and the trades. Now I’m the person most shops are missing: the one in the middle who gets your whole tech stack working for you, not against you.

  • Plumbing apprentice Since 2025

The vendor side

I know how the work gets sold.

I’ve been the vendor my whole career. I started out at startups, founded agencies of my own and sold one, then went to work inside enterprise. For seven years I was an engineering manager at WebDevStudios, leading more than 100 engineers across time zones and running up to 15 enterprise platforms at once. In 2021 I started my third agency.

From Fortune 500 brands to plumbing and HVAC shops, I’ve sat in the scoping calls and the sales meetings. I know how projects get scoped, where handoffs break, and what quietly gets dropped when nobody owns the outcome.

Your side

The truck side

I know how the work gets done.

Since January 2025 I’ve been a service and commercial plumbing apprentice in Northeast Florida. Fixtures, water heaters, drains, sewer conversions, permits, and inspections. I’ve watched a missed call turn into a lost job, and I’ve used field service software from the truck, not just the demo.

Why this exists

Your vendors have someone looking out for them. You didn’t.

Your website company, your ads agency, your software rep, and your SEO person all have account managers, playbooks, and renewal targets. The owner usually has nobody. So the owner ends up answering vendor questions, reviewing proposals, and guessing whether any of it is working.

I know which questions to ask, which answers are real, and when a problem is the tool versus the handoff after the tool does its thing. That’s the job: sit on your side of the table and make sure the people, systems, and money you already have are pulling in the same direction.

My career has run through startups, agencies, and enterprise. I’ve built my own agency, sold it, and gone to work inside big enterprise teams. In 2021 I founded my own agency yet again, for the third time: Lovable Gazelle. I insist on doing high-quality work, and that means the agency can only help so many people.

So I’ve moved into a different role, and Blue Collar Bodyguard is how I do it. It’s a Lovable Gazelle product, built for the trades. I help businesses get set up for success with their digital properties and get every system in the stack working for them, not against them. I fix the discombobulation and the chaos. Think of me as the person in the middle, running everything.

Before all of it, I earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami. I still think like an architect: understand how the whole building works before you move a wall.

What it costs

I’m not cheap. The assessment is worth it.

If you’re spending thousands and thousands of dollars on marketing, you’d better want to know where the hell it’s going.

Everything comes at a cost. Honestly, the assessment is probably priced too low.

Think about your tools. You make sure every one gets returned to the shop, stays locked in the truck, and doesn’t walk off a job site. Your marketing and technology deserve the same watch. That’s the bodyguard: making sure you’re not overspending on things that don’t work, so the money ends up in your pocket and with your team instead.

How I work

  • Start with reality. What is actually true today, what it costs you, and what breaks if we get it wrong.
  • Build the smallest durable thing. A small system that works and has a clean next step beats a big plan that leaves a mess for somebody else.
  • Respect the people closest to the work. Owners, dispatchers, and techs know things the dashboard doesn’t. I listen to them first.
  • AI is leverage, not theater. I use it every day to move faster. I still make the calls, review the work, and own what ships.

Let’s talk about your shop.

Fifteen minutes, no pitch deck. Tell me what you’re paying for and what’s bugging you, and I’ll tell you honestly whether I can help.
